Six Member SMSFs

The Treasury Laws Amendment (Self Managed Superannuation Funds) Bill 2020 received Royal Assent on 22nd June 2021. From 1 July 2021, SMSFs can have up to six members (previously four members). The change to the law has been a long time in the making given it was originally proposed to commence from 1 July 2019 and then finally
introduced to Parliament in September 2020.
