Documentation….you can’t have an SMSF without it yet its need, creation, signing requirements and retention are still cause for much confusion within the industry. In our March webinar we highlighted the importance of a number of key documents relating to the death of a member, such as the Trust Deed, the nomination of beneficiaries and pension documents, but they are just the tip of the iceberg. Whether it is member applications, product disclosure statements, trustee consent and declarations, investment strategies, financial statements or the recording of other events there is always something to be documented.
In this webinar we will identify the documents that we are questioned about on a daily basis and from that list we will identify which of those documents are mandated by law, which of those documents can be signed digitally and who should be signing the documents. Further to that we will consider some trustee best practices to ensure that they keep on top of their documentation requirements and needs and ensure that their documents meet their needs.
